The Archives of The Downtown Wichita Association contains reports, photographs, videos, clippings, correspondence, maps, proposals, building/site information and other documents significant in the revitalization of Wichita's downtown/Old Town areas.

Administrative History

The Downtown Wichita Association was created in 1996 by consolidating, as an attempt to strengthen smaller organizations with similar intentions. The Association was comprised of the Downtown United, Downtown Business Association, Updowntowners, Civic Enterprise Foundation, and the Wichita Railway Street Society. The mission statement notes that the group was "committed to invigorating downtown Wichita's economic, physical, and social environment."

Series 1 Box 1 - Box 11 FF19 Projects and Reports. The files in this series contain correspondence, memos, photographs, reports, and other information relating to the specific projects studied by the Downtown Wichita Association.
Series 2 Box 11 FF20 - Box 14 Images. This series contains photographs, negatives, slides, artist renderings, and videos specific to downtown Wichita.
Series 3 Box 15 - Box 16 FF5 Clippings. The files in this series contain clippings from newspapers and magazines relating to downtown Wichita and other news events.
