Content Note

The collection consists of photographs taken between the years 1876 and 1955 depicting mining towns, machinery, miners, mills, land sites, scenic views, trains and events in Colorado and New Mexico. Also included in the collection are newspaper clippings and other pieces of ephemera. The photographs were received in homemade albums and have been maintained in their original order within each Series. The titles given to the Series were the titles of the original album. The photographs were also received with captions which have been maintained. The photographer has been listed along with the photo if known.
