Written by Bliss Isely and Kunigunde Duncan, this unpublished manuscript traces the development of Wichita State University from its inception in 1895 as Fairmount College through its municipal period as the University of Wichita through the mid-1950s. Its title is “Oak From Acorn: A History of the University of Wichita.” Also included are notes and correspondence used in the manuscript's preparation.
