Content Note

This collection contains the original manuscript of a book by Dr. William E. Unrau, former history professor at Wichita State University. The book, Kansa Indians, recounts the story of the Native Americans of Kansas, the Wind People, from 1673 to 1873. It covers the appearance of the first French explorers to the final subjugation of the Kansa Indians in the forced migration of 1873.
