Content Note

The Americanization Movement Collection is comprised of photocopies of correspondence and a transcript of the proceedings of a conference, attended by State Governors, of the National Bureau of Education and the National Committee of One Hundred. This conference was held in 1918 just prior to the United States’ entry into World War I, and reflected the unease of America at the Communist Revolution in Russia and the Kaiser's overrunning much of Europe.
