Content note:
This collection of James W. Trimble contains his congressional papers from 1945
to 1967. The congressional papers are about such issues as agriculture, the
Beaver Dam, Buffalo River, Crooked Creek Dam, Farmers Home Administration, FCC,
Indian Land Claim (Kaw), and the OEO. Also included in the collection are miscellaneous
speeches, Washington correspondence, newspaper clippings, photographs, and miscellaneous.

of James W. Trimble Family Papers.
Biographical note:
James W. Trimble was born in Carroll Country, Arkansas, in 1894. After graduating
from the University of Arkansas in 1917, he served as a lawyer, prosecuting
attorney and circuit judge. He was elected to Congress as Representative from
the Third District of Arkansas in 1944 and served continuously in Congress until
he was defeated for re-election in 1966. He died in March, 1972.
