K, 1st Dragoons is a muster roll of Captain Philip St. George Cooke, company commander, who played a leading role in westward expansion of the United States from 1827 to 1866. The muster roll dates from December 31, 1839 to June 30, 1840 while the company was stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Colonel Stephen Watts Kearney was the commander of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The roll shows 34 men in the company on active duty, and the company had just marched from Fort Wayne, Oklahoma (Indian Territory) to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. |
