Content Note

The Clifford K. Berryman Collection of Political Cartoons primarily contains newspaper clippings of Berryman’s work dating from 1941 to 1949. The clippings are pasted onto loose-leaf letter-sized paper. The collection also includes several articles written about Berryman and his accomplishments.

Biography

Clifford K. Berryman (1869-1949) was a nationally known cartoonist. He drew for Washington Star from 1907 to 1949. His cartoons won him the Pulitzer Prize, a permanent place in the Library of Congress Cabinet of American Illustration and a display as part of the pictorial history of the Supreme Court.
