Mr. and Mrs. Frank Andrew Bates of Ellsworth County, Kansas, journeyed to Europe in 1909-1910. In this collection are clippings, menus, and a journal documenting their stay. Stops included Paris, London, and Switzerland.

Box 1 FF 1 Contains a travel journal of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bates. Dated from October 10, 1908 to January 3, 1911, the journal contains miscellaneous business cards, newspaper clippings, poems, and other mementos of their trip to Europe.
Box 1 FF 2 Contains miscellaneous correspondence Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bates wrote and received while on their trip in Europe.
Box 1 FF 3 Contains miscellaneous items from hotels in Europe where Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bates stayed. Folder also contains a First Class Passenger List from the U.S. and Royal Mail S.S. “Majestic” dated Wednesday, October 20, 1909. Mr. and Mrs. Bates are listed.
