Content note:
The Charles De Ketschendorf Journal contains a personalized written account
of the Siege of Ladysmith, in South Africa during the Boers War. The journal
dates from September 30, 1899 to July 17, 1900. Ketschendorf was a trooper of
the Natal Mounted Police, who served with the British forces in South Africa.
The notebook also contains photographs, newspaper clippings, and maps of the
campaign against the Boers.
