This collection consists of a notebook containing reports of Royal Flying Corps observers. The reports include details of troop movements, bombings and fires from over France, dating from August 28 to September 23, 1914. The names of the pilots and observers are included as well as minute-by-minute description of ground activities. Also included in the notebook are copies of seven letters concerning official business. This notebook offers an excellent description of the primary uses for aircraft during the opening months of World War I.
