Content note:
Established to provide employment to skilled
laborers in the 1930s and early 1940s, the Work Projects Administration (WPA)
was involved in several building projects on the University of Wichita campus.
This collection is comprised of correspondence between University and WPA officials,
correspondence of the architects associated with the various projects, and documents
such as blueprints, specifications, estimates, contracts, and other business
records. Wilner Auditorium, Morrison Hall, the Presidents residence, and
Jardine Hall are among the buildings on campus constructed under the WPAs
direction.
