Content note:
This collection contains handbooks, articles, and memorabilia of the Fairmount
Library Club. The materials trace the history of the club, which was founded
to help Fairmount College start a library. The second oldest women's club organization
in Wichita, the club was originally called the Ladies' Library Club. The materials
included in this collection provide insight into the early years of Fairmount
College and into the role of women in Wichitals academic community in the late
19th and early 20th centuries.
