Series 1 Box 1, FF 1-8 John Wesley Park Correspondence, 1857-1861. The first six folders contain letters from John Wesley Park which are arranged in chronological order and sub-divided by year. The letters comment on the slavery issue and "Bleeding Kansas," local society and customs, the gold region around Denver and Clear Creek, Colorado, Park's experiences on the Plains, and the effort by Union forces to prevent the secession on Missouri in 1861. The letters also contain personal information and several references to Park's relationships with local women. Folders 7-8 include letters not written by John Wesley Park, but which were purchased along with his letters. Included is a letter from an unknown person to Park containing personal information, a number of letters from J. M. Evans to Park in regard to plans to join him on his trip to the Colorado gold fields.
Series 2 Box 1, FF 9-11 Frank M. Park Correspondence, May 1867 - January 1868. The first two folders of the series contain letters from Frank M. Park which are arranged chronologically and sub-divided by year. The letters describe a stop in Salina on his way west, life at "new" Fort Hays, his impressions of the Plains, buffalo hunting, the Indian Wars around Fort Hays, and life in Hays City. The letters also contain personal business and information. The third folder of the series contains a letter from Lizzie Printz to Frank Park containing personal information.
Series 3 Box 1, FF 12 Jesse Park Correspondence, March 1869 - September 1869. One folder containing letters arranged chronologically. The letters describe a stop in Hays on his way west, vigilante justice in Sheridan, and an Indian raid on the town. The letters also contains personal information.
Series 4 Box 1, FF 13-15 Miscellaneous. Contains several envelopes, including one containing hair. A letter from Sarah Park (sister of the men) to Jasper Childs is included. Folder 14 contains a sheet of poetry possibly written by Park and included in one of the letters.
