The William W. McCammon collection contains photocopies of William W. McCammon's diaries from 1861 through 1903, and microfilm copies of miscellaneous correspondence. William W. McCammon served in the Civil War, on the Indian frontier, and in the Spanish-American War attaining the rank of Major in the United-States Army. McCammon's diaries trace his sometimes turbulent career through 1903, revealing the day-to-day activities and politics involved in an Army officer's life between 1861 and 1903.
