Biography

Louis J. Zutavern attended Fairmount College, the predecessor to Wichita State University, from 1907 to 1912. Zutavern was not just a student during those years; he and his brother, F. Kurt, set up the first printing press on campus and ran their own business, the Ry-Zut Press, with clients such as Fairmount College's professors and campus groups. They printed the 1908 Parnassus, the school's yearbook. Examples of Zutavern’s printing and photography are found in the Parnassus and in the collection of images related to Fairmount College in the University Archives.
