Content Note

Louis J. Zutavern attended Fairmount College, the predecessor to Wichita State University, from 1907 to 1912. Zutavern was not just a student during those years; he and his brother, F. Kurt, set up the first printing press on campus and ran their own business, the Ry-Zut Press, with clients such as Fairmount College's professors and campus groups. They also printed the 1908 Parnassus, the school's yearbook. Detailing his activities as a student and businessman during 1908, this diary provides some insight into this young entrepreneur's life and times in Wichita in the early part of the 20th century.
