    Content Note
The Sod House Photograph Collection contains over 200 photographs and postcards depicting sod houses common to early plains settlements in the American Midwest.  The collection includes photographs of sod houses from such states as Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas, Iowa, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, and Montana.  Also included are photographs of lean-tos, sod buildings, sod churches, interiors of sod houses, sod post offices, and sod schools.
