Acknowledgments Commencing in 1993, the Department of Special Collections at Wichita State University Libraries has worked to transcribe and make accessible on the Internet nearly 6000 pages of Dr. Edward N. Tihen's handwritten notes from Wichita newspapers. The Tihen Notes,
as they have become known, have proved invaluable for local history
research. Special Collections is very thankful for the financial support of the Tihen family. This project would not have been accomplished without the energetic and dedicated contributions of student assistants.
