Content Note

The Gene Basset Photograph Reference Collection is composed of newspaper photographs taken from the 1930s to the 1970s. The photographs are of world leaders including political figures such as Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin and Dwight D. Eisenhower as well as movie stars. Basset used the collection in his career as an editorial cartoonist.
