The Wichita Urban Renewal Collection consists of correspondence, reports, studies, and related materials. These materials represent an effort on behalf of the Wichita City government and its citizens to improve Urban Neighborhoods and revitalize former business areas to increase the attractiveness of Wichita to outsiders. This collection serves the dual purpose of showing a community’s attempts to improve certain areas in addition to allowing insight into Wichita and local history.

Included is a rough, hand-written copy for a grant of Instructions for U.S. Department of Commerce application for grants, and a copy of “Wichita Metro.”
Box 3	FF 12	General City 1973-1974 (2). Contains correspondence, agendas, notes, forms, and various publications regarding economic development of Wichita. Included is a copy of a 1974 Grant Application for an Economic and Industrial Planning Staff for a Wichita Sedgwick County Development Commission. A resolution authorizing the resignation of the Wichita Regional Economic Adjustment Committee to the Wichita Development Commission, Organizational Charts of the City of Wichita Department of Community Development, and Office of Energy Resources and Planning, and lastly a copy of the Energy Study Phase I study by Wichita State University.
Box 3	FF 13	The Ozarks Regional Application for Title X Assistance under the Public Works and Development Act of 1965. Includes correspondence, various proposals, cost tabulations, and reports regarding the restructuring of the Rock Island Depot by the General Urban Renewal Plan.
Box 3	FF 14	Rock Island Railroad Depot Restoration, Wichita, Kansas, 1975. Includes the full application for the Ozarks Regional Commission Title X Assistance under the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965.
